OUCH!!!!

I'm over a year out from RNY. Never had any issues whatsoever...Weeelllll today, I noticed that everytime I took a sip of my skinny cinnamon dolce latte  that it hurt a little. Did'nt fini**** because of the pain/discomfort. At lunch I was having a half a turkey/swis sandwich. Didn't finish the half...had extreme pain in the area just in the 'V' of the breast bone...where pain from the gall bladder I'm assuming would be. (doc took it out during RNY) Well there was also back pain and what felt like horrible gas pains radiating throughout my abdomen....had to go lay down in one of the operatories at work! Ended up not going back to work...call surgeon's office...after talking with them. They want me to have an upper GI tomorrow....suspect gastritis or ulcer but want to rule out other issues w/the upper GI. Waiting on RX to be filled...sooooooo I'm sitting here HUNGRY too but scared to eat! I took a sip of water a while ago and doubled over w/pain! So i'm here camped out on the couch already in my p.j.'s...waiting and worrying!

You aren't 'whining'! I'm proud of you for calling your surgeon and I hope you will get back to us and let us know what they had to say after you have your tests run. I'm so sorry to hear that you are in so much discomfort and hope it all resolves soon.

well....here I am...after spending the weekend in the hospital! Friday afternoon the pain became unbearable. Called surgeon and was told to go straight to the er, he would be at the hospital,er would know to expect me yada yada...after TWO hours writhing in pain in a wheelchair and throwing my guts up....it was discovered....oh she's an immediate admit patient! WTH!!!! hubby and I each tried several times telling the triage nurses and whoever would listen that my surgeon knew i was coming and was expecting me...anyway....finally get to a room 2 hours later.....given morphine...which didn't help....finally given stronger med and med for nausea....bloodwork done and test upon test done...it is suspected that I have an ulcer...I stayed until sunday then came home armed with prilosec, pain meds, nausea meds and a fear of eating! It doesn't hurt to eat now but I am soooo paranoid and scared to eat! That is a pain I NEVER want to feel again! Worse than labor pains!!!
But that's the short version of my issues this weekend!

Also thinking about filing a complaint with the ER. Not sure if it would do any good or not though.....

 O Lawd girl!  I am so sorry this has happened to you!  What caused this???  I am glad to know you are on the mend!
