Any issues with complexion... specifically face breaking out, entire chemistry changing, etc??

Hey Candice,

In answer to your question... Sort of, but to be honest, mine's probably not at all related to my WLS. I went through menapause about the same time I had my surgery so unfortunately, not only do have a lot of excess skin, but the elasticity is gone and the texture of my skin has changed dramatically. I don't really have issues with 'breakouts', but do have issues with dryness, but again this is most likely due to the hormonal changes associated with menapause instead of my WLS.

I look forward to seeing responses of other 2+ year responders chime in.

I def have a lot of dryness myself!   But suddenly this summer I am breaking out all over my face, something I have never experienced even in my adolescence years... I haven't changed use of products  to cause an allergy, but I have purchased new makeup, pillows, etc... Nothing... I can't figure it out.  I am wondering if it is somehow related to the malab part of our surgery.  Relating to vitamins, etc... Btw, what has been your experience on that Barb... how have your labs been...Even when consistantly taking vit I am coming up deficient.... borderline anemic (Iron & D) & getting B12 injections which seems to help... but my knowledge is far greater now to the impact than  it was pre-surgery ...to be candid, kind of scares me.. what's this gonna be like in 20 yrs???...based on my current changes??  I'll tell ya more when we chat....

Of course I'm 48 now but my skin has thinned and when I tan it is alittle blotchy, old scars now like a bad bug bite stay white.  But I have notice that each of my nails on my big toes, dead center have turned white due to the skin underneath is not attached in the middle.  I asked the skin doctor last month when I had a few moles removed and she said it was from pressure of my high heals on my toes.  Well that aint it cause I where open toe shoes.  I asked her if it was a form of ring worm which I heard can do it.  I just wonder if it is is vitamin related.  I don't have much problem with any of my other nails.  Strange.

Okay so I am just approaching two years but I am in Barb's shoes here. I am 'preimenapausal' and so all kinds of strange things are going on with my skin and hair in places I would prefer it not to grow LOL!

My skin is much healthier now, but did go through a detox phase early on.  I think the Biotin/vitamins really help, and I wash my face with Oil of Olay cleanser normally.  Besides that, I'm over the pimply phase of my life, so getting older perhaps has some benefits.  lol
