Mexico...anyone?

Has anyone here in NC had surgery in Mexico?  If so and you wouldn't mind me asking- (those who have already been or those who have already been scheduled)
1- how much was it and what  WLS did you have
2-who was the doctor
3-did you have to pay a deposit and how much, and
4-was airfare included? 

I haven't decided on a Dr yet and am doing some research- thanks!

I had my lap band surgery in Tijuana, Mexico by Dr. Ortiz in Oct 2007. I lost 125 pounds (most of it during the first year). Had my band unfilled in 2009 during an unrelated surgery and have had a hard time getting back to my sweet spot. And I repained 25 pounds, but I'm working on getting it off.

My surgery cost $8500. Paid $500 down and the balance due day of surgery. It DID NOT include airfare or any follow-up. Whenever I had any questions though, I called or e-mailed and I always got a quick response. A very dear friend, her DH and 5 of her co-workers also went to Dr. Ortiz and none of them have any problem. My daughter paid for my surgery. I had no co-morbidities so my ins. wouldn't pay.

I get my fills at a  Fill Centers USA doctor, whom I LOVE. My DH had lap band surgery here in NC, his ins would pay cause he had lots of problems related to his weight. His dr has given me 3 fills, but his staff does few bands and they are very 'ham handed'. Last fill I had there I was stuck 7 times and it was very painful. I will NEVER go back there. I will drive the 5 hours to the FCUsa doc, or go back to TJ.

 I went to mexico in 6/8/09.
 My surgery was by Dr Joya he has a page. I went to him after watching videos by youwantgeek and then shrinking laura on youtube both of whom went to him. Melting mama also went to him. it was 12,500. That included airfare, hotel and surgery. You can apply for financing through medical credit companies. we used credit cards. 
 I made the mistake of going just before rainy season also the price droped by $1000 right after, if you bought your own airfare. I should got my own airfare it would have been cheaper (but at a bad time of year.) If you have any questions send me a message and I wil give you my phone number.
