At Duke when do they file your insurance/ before lab work or After

When does Duke send your information to the insurance comp. for approval.  Before Lab work or after.

once duke gets all the information that your insurance company requires then they will file your insurance..all your testing has to be done..meet with the required folks, etc.

Are you talking about approval for surgery or approval for lab work?

FYI - It costs me about 3 to 4 times as much out of pocket to get lab work done via Duke as opposed to doing it at my local lab by an order from my PCP.  I'm talking hundreds of dollars cheaper....

I was wondering about the lab work.  I know you have to have a lot of lab work and other test done to make sure you are well enough for surgery.  So I was not sure if I will have to do all of the test and lab work first before Duke will send my documentation to the insurance company for approval for the surgery.  Or if they send for your surgery approval before all of the lab work, so you don't waste your time doing all of the labs and then find that the  insurance comp. deny the surgery.
