Got a call from Duke on Friday

Got a call from Duke yesterday. 

My PCP faxed my first 4 months of documentation to Duke and I had to call my PCP again because the documentation was not spelled out well enough for the insurance comp.  So PCP had to fax and add on to the documentation.  Well Duke called and said that all documentation looked great and that Dr. Sudan's admin. assistant will call me on Monday to set up my evaluation.  I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.  It finally is happening.  I still have to go for two more visit with my PCP.  one is at the end of this month and one next month.  I guess once I visit with Duke hopefully within the next month that they will send my information to the insurance comp.  Not sure.  But I needed to share this with people who understand what I am going through.  My family is happy for me, but they don't really understand like you guys do.  Well hopefully soon I can say I'll be on the losers bench.

Congratulations, Wendy!  That IS exciting!  I had my RNY done at Duke back in March and have had an overall good experience with the program.  Good luck to you!!

That's exciting news! I had my Lap RNY done by Dr. Sudan in March and I'm doing great. No complications! Dr. Sudan is very personable. You'll like him. Good luck with the rest of the process.

Welcome to the group! I look forward to getting to know you as you make this incredible journey. It sounds like you are well on your way and I'm sure you'll be sitting on the loser's bench soon. It's normal to be both excited and nervous. This is a huge decision, but I would bet that if you asked 1000 people if they'd do it again, 999 would say absolutely YES!

 

Yay!  I go on Aug. 2 - to meet with Dr. Sudan, the psych and the nut.  Will be sure to let you know how it goes!

I got another call from Duke today and they set up my psych appt. for Next Tuesday July 27th  and I visit with Dr. Sudan and the nut on Aug. 9th.  I didn't think they would get me in that fasttttttttt ! Well I'm on my way.
