Why me?!..its always something..

Is it just me or is it always something?..(this may be TMI)..but I just got a call from my surgeon's nurse.. she tells me that my potassium is low(ok--no problem--she's giving me a supplement)--she then goes on to tell me that I have a UTI. I've never had that in my life..so she's calling in a prescription tonight so that I can start tomorrow. My surgery is Wednesday..I mean--can't I just catch a break for once?!

Ugh.

Be grateful that these things did not postpone your surgery.  I wish you luck on Wednesday.  I am 3 weeks post op and doing very good.  make sure that you have gas x on hand and ready for when you come home as well as a soft pillow handy to hold on your stomach.

I'm sorry to hear about the UTI, but be glad that they caught it early. If they go awhile, they can be pretty painful. I think that all will be well with the Rx and drinking plenty of cranberry juice... you can even get the low sugar version ;-)

Congrats on the upcoming date.  Don't worry about the UTI-better they give you the abx now.  There's a good chance the catheter would give you a UTI anyway.  And, if you had no symptoms of a UTI, you could have had plenty and just never known about it.  The most important thing is that surgery is going to go off as scheduled.

Don't worry!  It's all going to be great. 

thanks ya'll..im just hoping it goes away..i bought some cran grape juice(that's not something I really like) but I'll do anything to get it to go away...Keeping my fingers crossed!
