I am a newbie  I am hopefully starting this journey. I had wanted to do this 3 years ago and found out I was pregnant.  I am back. I am ready to start this journey  I am a little anxious - hopefully everything  will be smooth sailing.  I havent seen a lot of posts about tricare standard and my out of pocket costs. (if anyone has had surgery with Tricare Standard and used Village Surgical could you give me an idea of the out of pocket cost please let me know) But whatever it takes  I am willing to get it done this time.
I have read a lot of posts and looked at tons of pictures and you all look wonderful...  If  anything reading your messages and stories  have motivated me to RUSH TO THE LOSERS BENCH.

Hi Mommy,

You might want to try cross posting to the main and insurance forums to see if you can get someone who has experience directly with Tricare Standard and Village Surgical. You might also consider cross posting to the surgery forum for your surgery type.

Wishing you all the best as you move toward your seat on the Loser's Bench.

Dr.Classen was my surgeon more than 3 years ago and I have been very pleased with my choice.  As you go through the pre-surgery process the coordinator at Village Surgical should tell you what  your out of pocket costswill be as far as the surgeon is concerned.  You can also contact the hospital , I was assigned someone in the finance dept that explained my out of pocket cost for the hospital.  The surgeon and hospital are two separate bills.  I had to pay the entire estimated out of pocket costs to the surgeon prior to surgery and the hospital allowed me to pay a percentage down on what they estimated my costs and make monthly payments on the balance.  I was well informed prior to the surgery and had no additional costs.

You can also contact Tricare and they should go over the expenses with you.  I was not Tricare so my out of pocket expenses probably will not be the same.

Wishing you the best.
