pain in upper left side

I am 21/2 weeks post op. I have had NO nausea and thought I was doing great but now I have excruciating pain under left rib cage.  Sometimes it is so bad I can not function.  Could this be a gas pocket?  I have taken gas x and walked around in the house for thirty min, at a time.

I'm just a little farther out than you, and I think I know the pain you're talking about.  Mine was a sharp BURNING pain that was especially strong when I bent down, turned the wrong way, or went to the bathroom.  My surgeon said it's common and normal.  He's not exactly sure WHY we have it, but that is the side that most of the "work" is done through.  Heating pads really helped me!!! I'm almost 4 weeks out and the past couple days have been much, much better, so hang in there!
