Good Morning Everyone!

How was your holiday weekend?  Mine was very productive. The thunderstorms were mostly at night, so I was able to work in my yard and get the grass mowed.  I thought that I covered up enough against the sun, but ended up with sun burns on my lower arms.  I burn really easily so I usually try to cover up, sunscreen usually is not enough.   Yesterday we went to a cookout at my BFF home and it was so YUMMY.  She had chicken, ribs and shrimp along with lots of fresh vegetables, salad, corn on the cob and watermelon.  I am a produce Junkie and was in heaven.

I received my GoWear on Thursday and finally got everything set up so that today will be my first day of data.  It is only 6:30 am and according to the read-out I have already expended 729 calories.  This should be interesting.

Today it is back to work for me.  I had no problems getting up in the morning this weekend, but this morning was a struggle to get out of bed.  I have a busy day scheduled and then dinner with a girl friend I haven't seen since before Christmas.  We will probably go to Olive Garden.  I went online to view their menu and found that even their salad is very high in calories and fat.  Most of their meals start out at 500 calories.  For me the best choice is their minestrone soup and maybe part of their Venetian Apricot Chicken.  Even with these choices I will spend approximately 480 calories.  But I will plan the rest of my day around this dinner and try to increase my stair climbing today.

What are plans for the day?

Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

What a fabulous three day weekend. It was nice not to have any kids sports activities. I was able to relax, go shopping and take in a chik-flik. I also went for a run/walk around shelly lake with the dogs and family. My husband said after watching me run in my little jean shorts he definitly knows all the crap we went through and all the money it cost for thr RNY it was all WORTH it. He has always been supportive, but that was great to hear.
I have been shopping more than usual to get ready for two big vacations. I am finnally in a size 14, but have slowed down losing to only a pound in the last three weeks. This is OK with me since the first 85-90 pounds fell off. I have never, in my adult life, been this close to a size 12 and at a weightloss goal. Only 4 more pounds to the 100 mark.
After the running I have realized it is time to step up the cardio workout, along with the personal training 3 days a week. I think I became a little lazy on the cardio because It took me so long to get in enough nutrients, but no excuses now.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Thanks to all the men and women who protect our wonderful country.

Have a GREAT week
Audra

I feel rested and recharged this morning. Thanks in part to not doing a single thing this weekend.

I have decided that I have a new "dream job" goal.....I want to be the person that rates the country's top beaches. Think about it....I could get paid (or at least comped) by tourism boards on both coasts to come enjoy their scenery and then rank their amenities.   It's officially on my bucket list. Until then I'll simply have to live for weekends.

I have a question - When do you find yourself  having the hardest time sticking to the plan?  Let me explain a little - For me being at work is the most challenging. I have a filing cabinet drawer full of what I consider my approved foods (high protein - low carbs) and I always plan out what I'll have for my meals. But the minute a box of doughnuts or a loaf of banana bread come into the office - I find myself with a helping.  It's almost like I'm doing it without thinking. So after a bite or 2 I throw it away. But dang. I'm not physically hungry when I go get it. It's just that old habit creeping back in. I realized this weekend that even though I had chips and "kid" snacks within arms reach that they posed no challenge or attraction. Why??? I can be home on the weekends with a pantry full of junk (David loves some junk food) and it never even crosses my mind to go get some. I don't get it.  Suggestions?  Comments ? Advice?

Today's Plan:
Breakfast - Oatmeal w/ tvp (same as on weekends)
snack - apple & cheese
Lunch - Deli Rolls - pickle - cheese - tomatoes
commute snack - protein shake (either click or creamsicle)
Dinner - BBQ Chicken - steamed veggies - baked beans
lns - not sure

Iris,

My office is right next door to the break room.  I really have no problems with food here at work, because they bring in the things that will make me very ill if I would eat them (sugar and flour products).  Not only that but at work I am so busy that I have my team partner remind me when it is time for lunch or I will wait until I am feeling weak to eat.  When we have a celebration such as a birthday and there is food and/or cake, I just socialize with everyone and make myself a yummy cup of coffee.

My worse time is when I am not occupied with activities (mind and body),when I feel bored I roam looking for something to eat.  I can not simply sit down and watch tv, I have to get a puzzle book or something to occupy my hands or I will eat.  I have started keeping gum at my recliner in the living room so when I feel I need something (head hunger), I just stick a piece in my mouth and chew away.

I know I eat when I'm bored. I try and keep a crossword puzzle or something like that on my desk. I used to be terrible about swallowing my gum when I was younger so I've stayed away from it post-op but maybe some dentyne or trident (those little tiny pieces) could keep me occupied. At least I'd have to concentrate on what I was doing for fear of swallowing. ha ha ha

I remember when I first came to OH that there was a fairly common problem of folks chewing up food but then spitting it out. And yes that is considered an eating disorder. But now I honestly can understand why people were doing that. I don't do it and I thought it was the weirdest thing I'd ever heard at first but now I semi-understand it.
