Been AWOL for a while.... lots of great happenings in my life!

Hi everyone,

I've been so busy lately I have not gotten on OH for a while.  Just wanted to pop in and say hello to all you LOSERS!  Hope you  are all just shrinking away. 

I have some great news.  First my daughter, Marenda got engaged about 3 weeks ago so we have been really busy planning her wedding in less than 6 months.  We have lots done already, including the MOB dress.  I always dreaded having to find a dress for her wedding when I was morbidly obese and let me tell you...  I had a ball trying on dresses and found THE PERFECT one.  I feel like Cinderella in it.  I'll post a picture so you can see.  The one I have on in the picture is a size 8 and it was too big, thus the clips in the back.  We ordered a 6!  All of you out there contemplating having RNY or the Band...  Take a look and you will know that it was the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my family.

Speaking of family, ours grew by one darling little girl, born Monday at Rex Hospital.  Scarlet Olivia Huggins arrived at 4:05 pm, weighing in a 8 lbs 2.2 oz and 19 3/4" long.  My heart just melted when I held her in my arms.  Can't wait to get back up there on Saturday to continue the spoiling process.  I'll post a picture of her too.... 

Great things are happening to me these days and I feel like I deserve it after the 5 years we've had between all the cancer, surgeries, etc.  God is so good!

Pics of your son are beautiful!!!!  Was that a wedding or prom???

Prom - don't scare me like that.....He's so sweet and the women seem to love him so I'm hoping I can encourage him to beat them off with a stick for a few more years (decades?).

Both of my kids too my advice not to marry before age 25.  They both waited till age 27, and lived on their own in their own home that they purchased.  I'm really proud of both of them.  just wanted them to experience life on their own before settling down.  I got married at 18!!!!!  Way too young, but we've stuck it out now for 35 years...

I know just how you feel about being able to go in and find a dress that makes you look and feel like the belle of the ball. I can't wait to see the photos after the wedding. I know that you and your daughter will both be beaming. 

I can feel your love and pride at the arrival of the newest member of your family. The photo of the two of you is just beautiful and one to be treasured for years to come. 

I know that you have had a rough road during the past few years. It looks like the worst is over and blessing are raining upon you and yours. Congratulations.

Thanks Barb, I actually thought of you and your MOG dress!  It's a fun time in our lives right now....  Hope things with you, Ben and Sarah are going better!

Hi Alice,

Things are still challenging, but we are moving forward and I'm hoping we are about to hit the 'downhill slope.'

This summer our other son, Mike, will be marrying his beloved Anilu so I also will be wearing another lovely dress. Like you, I have found looking for a dress for these events to be a joy instead of the dreaded nightmare it was before. I'll try to get a photo of the dress I'll be wearing posted soon. It's not nearly as glamorous as yours, but it will do the job and it's a bridal size 8. I'm still not as tiny as you are!
