Thursday check-in
How was your day yesterday? What are your plans for today?
I had a nice day yesterday and am looking forward for another one today. I will be taking the afternoon off from work to day. I have planned an afternoon of shopping at some of my favorite stops in Raleigh/Cary and then dinner at Chili's with the Graduate Support Group. I am so looking forward to some time to myself to just roam around a little and then the fellowship of the support group.
The sun will shine today, so what more can I wish for in a day?
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thursday!
Hi Carrie,
I'm looking forward to seeing you this evening. What a nice treat! It looks like we will have a nice turnout. While I love the general support group meetings that we have once a month, they are often so big that it's hard to get to really talk to everyone. I really like the more intimate quality of the special interest groups and hope you will enjoy it as well.
Well, today is moving day. Ben, Sarah and I have been packing and while we have a lot done, it's clear that we are just making a local move because there is so much still not packed. That said, we were up until about 12:30 last night and we still have another hour or more left to do before the movers arrive to move the 'big stuff.' A lot of the packing involved packing up the kitchen island, china and crystal cabinets, armoires, book cases, etc. While the mover's won't be moving the contents, we had to unload all of that 'stuff.' Even though it has been an enormous amount of work and there is plenty still to come. I must say that the last time we moved I was a decade younger, but this time I 'feel' a decade younger than I did then. It's amazing how much more stamina you have when you aren't packing around another person.
Even though we've been 'eating out' much more than normal lately, we've also been working hard to make sure that we are eating reasonably healthy. Yesterday morning on my way to the other house I realized I hadn't had breakfast so I stopped at McDonald's and got scrambled egg. It must have been a HUGE chicken because I could only eat about 1/2 of it. For lunch we split a grilled chicken salad and for dinner we had lean pork tacos with black beans on the side. Today will be crazy again and I'm hoping that we can do some things to be sure that we eat 'decently' through the day. I got some extra stuff when I got dinner last night so that we'll have it available and it's pretty good for us. We'll be meeting friend for dinner at Chili's tonight and I'm thinking that I might be hearing fajitas with a side of beans calling my name.
Well, it's time for me to sign off and finish up the last minute packing stuff and get Sarah off to school before the movers get here.
I hope everyone has a good day.

My insides are still trying to recover from the colonoscopy and prep. Yall remember that gurgling that our new insides made when we were early post ops???? Well that's how I sound times about 20. I honestly think you can stand in the driveway with the radio and tv on and still hear me grumbling, gurgling and such. WEIRD. Plus my midsection feels like I've done about 4000 sit ups and crunches. hmmmm....
Doc says to up my fiber, water and exercise. Any suggestions?
With all the drama that was going on and not knowing how things might end up we cancelled the camping trip for the weekend and my appointment with the pain management doc for today. I am still taking the 2 days off work for a little hard earned "Me" time. Time for a haircut this morning and after that maybe lunch with either my step sister or best friend. Or maybe I'll sit here with a gigantic glasss of decaf tea and watch my tomatoes grow. hmmmm.... the possibilities are endless.
Hope everyone has a GREAT day!!!!
