On the RNY forum page some of those that are further out usually aim for 150 grams a day so I don't think you're in trouble. So much of our post -op life is trial and error as my surgeon loves to point out. If it works for you - then it works for you.

Check with your nutritionist and/or surgeon. I am nearly 3 years post op and I usually get 60 to 80 grams of protein per day, which is what my program suggests. My hair, skin and nails are fine and so far all of my labs have been good.  I haven't used shakes since shortly after my surgery and I 'eat' all of my protein.

Hi Barb, thanks for the feedback.  I love my protein shakes, especially in the AM on my way out the door for my commute to work.  They also serve as my healthy low carb snack!
