Tuesday check-in
After a WONDERFUL weekend, I started the week off yesterday feeling a little out of sorts. I was able to go to work, but as soon as I got home and consumed a protein drink it was off to bed with me. This morning I am feeling more myself .
For Mother's Day my DH surprised me with a completed "honeydew" list. My sweet husband is a true "Nerd". He works in the wholesale electrical supply business so he does have some knowledge of electrical work, but when it comes to plumbing, well we usually hire a plumber. On Sunday we rode our motorcycles to Waffle House and shared my favorite cheesy eggs breakfast. After a morning of riding the countryside surrounding Fayetteville, we finished up our travel with a stop for some "Starbucks". YUM. When we returned home, he replaced my kitchen faucet and garbage disposal unit. Then he repaired a kitchen cabinet door and presented me with a new floor lamp. The faucet has been leaking for months, the garbage disposal has been dead for more than a year, the cabinet door has not closed completely for several weeks and my floor lamp has been shorting out since forever! He fininshed his list by touching up my livingroom ceiling where we had a water leak before the roof was replaced earlier this year.
There were no flowers but this was by far the best gift my sweetie could have given me. Everything works too! Usually when he attempts any plumbing it will cost us more than double for a plumber to come in and repair his attempts.
For today, I will make sure I get in all my fluids, vitamins and protein needs. I have a lunch meeting so my meal plan itself is left up in the air until lunch. I will plan the remainder of the day around my lunch and start my day off with a protein shake.
Wishing each and everyone a WONDERFUL Tuesday!
Thankfully we all survived Monday - it was total chaos at work. By the time I got home last night all I wanted to do was curl up on the couch and watch a little TV before bed. I was sound asleep by 9 last night. Woke up ready to rule the world this morning.
The plan for today looks something like this:
Commute: Click Frappe w/ FF Lactaid
Breakfast: Egg Beaters
snack: Handful of grapes and a LF Cheese stick
Lunch: 1/2 tuna salad flatbread from Subway w/ extra veggies
commute: Celery Stick w/ Peanut butter
Dinner: Crock Pot cube steak & steamed veggies
Exercise: The walk that I planned for last night didn't happen - so hopefully I'll get in at least an hour tonight since dinner is already cooked and waiting in the crock pot.
Water: Picked up a couple of "new" crystal light flavors in the grocery store last night so I can't wait to try those. (Raspberry lemonade, Citrus Splash, White Grape) .
Hope everyone has a grreat Day......

Hope all you moms had a good mothers day and all you children treated your moms to something special. I was able to spend the day with both my kids and both my husband and my mom, but this coming weekend is the big girls weekend at the beach with just my mom and sister. YAY me, no one yelling mommy my way. LIFE IS GOOD !!!!!!!!!
Sorry I will miss this support meeting, but I have a new friend coming to it her name is Kristin Kovacs and she is pre-op. I know you will make her welcome. You guys are the best bunch.
Have a great week

Ben and I worked at the new house continuing to clean, paint, put together storage cabinets and closet organizers, put in new liners in the cabinets that have been painted inside, but still need painting outside.
Later I went with a friend to learn how to lace and bustle her wedding gown and the seamstress made a few last minute alterations on the spot. My friend, who also has WLS and has morphed into a beautiful bride, looks just radiant. I can't wait for the wedding!
After all of the dress stuff, it was back to the house to continue the work towards getting it ready, including putting on new toilet seats and secure cabinets to the wall.
We didn't get home until about 9:00 pm and I had to redo Sarah's bandages, then we had some leftovers for dinner.
I need to do some more work at the new house, but today Ben will be handling most of that stuff and I'll be taking care of stuff at home.
As I write this, I realized that I haven't taken my supplements today, so as soon as I'm done, I'll take care of that. I'll also run a few errands and then I have a meeting with my jewelry guild this evening. So much for a quiet home cooked dinner. Oh well.
I am working on trying to make sure to get enough calories and to eat. I must be doing something right because I am back up to about 137/138 and holding.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Take care,
Barbara
