Well, I knew it was too good to be true! Almost five weeks out and no throwing up. But today it happened. I made a pork roast in the crockpot. After three bites I realized it wasn't going down so well, so up it came. It really wasn't horrible, but not something I'd like to repeat. I guess it was just too dense, because it was moist and falling apart. I think I'll stick to chicken. And chicken is the one I thought I'd have the problem with!

Well the good news is it is not the worst thing that could happen, so you do not have to be scared anymore about wondering what it would be like. Your pouch definitly has the last word on what you should and should not try. Hope all else is going well, sounds like you are doing good with only that one incident, consider yourself blessed

Good luck and keep up the good work

Hi Sarah,

I'm sorry to hear that you experience a bout of the dreaded 'foamies'. It's not the same as dumping, but can be unpleasant. The good news is that as your dear little pouch continues to heal, you have less and less of those incidents over time. The reason that this happens is that whatever you ingested blocked the esophageal opening. Over time, as the swelling goes down, this happens less and less. You can try the pork roast again another time, just be sure to go slow, with very small bites and chew, chew, chew.

Also, it seems odd, but for some reason something may bother you one day and not the next. Take heart though... eventually, it will all work out as your pouch and new 'plumbing' heals and learns to work in concert.

See you soon!

Oh boy I know about STUCK things not a nice thing.
I have found when this happens to me a cup of hot tea does wonders.
There are times when things still get stuck and I will be the first to admit it is coming out no matter what I have to do.
