Humpday Check-in

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so grateful that yesterday is over and today is a new day.   I really can not say that I have a boring life, because each day is FULL and moves very quickly.

After a busy day at work today, I am getting a real treat.  I will be getting an hour in a reflection/meditation room with a fountain before I receive a one hour deep tissue massage.  This is a rare treat and was a birthday gift from last year from my BFF.  I had almost forgotten about the certificate and when I found it, I wondered why I was saving it.  For me, these massages are one of those times that it "hurts so good"!  I will ask that my legs get the most attention.  Although they always bruise, these massages always help release some of the trapped fluid and get the blood flow moving in my legs.

I am going to concentrate on fluids today to prepare myself for the most benefits of tonight's treat.  I PLAN to be in the office for the entire day, so will have access to a blender and a large supply of protein drink options.  If it works out as I hope, I want to try and get rid of any carb cravings and a day of protein drinks usually takes care of this urge.

Since I PLAN to be in the office, I will attempt to make as many trips down stairs to check on the other departments.  Whenever I go down the stairs, I have to go back up to get to my office.  I am still amazed at the ease I can go up the stairs now.  Three years ago I would go up the stairs to my office in the morning and never leave the 2nd floor until it was time to go home or leave for an appointment.

But we all know what happens to our best laid plans!

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!

Good Morning Carrie!

I'm glad that you took the time for yourself. Your post reminded me that I have a gift certificate for a massage too and I need to get it out and use it. Maybe I'll do it after we get moved, but that sounds like a nice thing to do.

Your comment about making it up and down the stairs reminded me that while I'm exhausted as we are cleaning the new house and getting ready to make the move, I can't imagine how tired I'd be if I were still hauling another person around with me. Like you, I'm so grateful for the improved health and endurance I enjoy since losing all of that excess weight.

Tonight I think we will do something to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I've been so tired that I'm thinking we might get something from our favorite Taqueria. They have some lovely things that will allow us to eat healthy and well.

I hope you and everyone else has a great day.

Morning folks!! Not sure what today will hold - seems like lately it's sorta like living in a blender. A few good heart to heart talks and hopefully the future will look a little more promising. I don't do well in the type situation that I've found myself in. And we all know that stress eating doesn't go away after surgery. I guess it's time to really deeply examine quite a few things in my life. Dang It!!! I can get so comfortable in the denial zone.

For the things I can control in my life - I'm trying to make healthy food and exercise decsions.

Commute: Creamsicle Thick Shake (orange metamucil, vanilla protein. FF Lactaid, orance crystal light) This may sound disgusting but it's amazingly GOOD.

Breakfast: Egg Beaters Omelet (salsa, peppers, onions & mushrooms added in)

Lunch: Cinco De Mayo at the office - planning on ground turkey meat w/ salsa, veggies and a few chips

Commute : Click Frappe

Dinner: Crock Pot Chicken & Green Beans

Snack : Watermelon cubes

Exercise ---- A long walk after dinner. Might try to squeeze one in at lunch time if I'm tempted to keep going back to the chip basket.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Today I will get to see my firstborn whom I have not seen in about ten years. He is driving from Missouri to Norfolk VA and he is swinging down into Greensboro to stop and visit for an hour or so. He has to be back at work Friday Morning in MO so he can't stay for very long. I can't wait to give hoim a great big hug. Oh and BTW he has never seen me at this size when he would be able to remember it. He does have pictures though of him and I when he was a baby so he knows the fat mama wasn't always the norm LOL!
