Walk From Obesity?

Okay, was looking.  Does anyone do these in Raleigh?

I didn't see one listed for last year..?


If one WERE organized, would anyone attend?  National date is in September.

I would be interested in attending if one were organized.

I kept looking through the registration info and found a non-refundable $500 site registration fee is required.

Ouch.

I'm ALL for helping the community out, but I'm a bit strapped to put that kinda cash out...

Hi Andrea... Not sure if you know about the ECU Bariatric Support Group in Greenville... I think Anna is working possibly to do one again this year. I know that we are working on a scrapbook to be placed on display of before and after pictures of support group members. Our next meeting will be May 18th at 6pm. Group will meet at the lobby of the Brody Outpatient Clinic. If you would be interested in further information, just let me know and I will give you Anna's email.

I don't do night events because of my kids (I miss their bedtimes).

Plus.  Well.  After I corrected someone at the SS group in Rocky Mount and asked never to come back (they were saying Tums were the correct calcium...), I sorta have a bad taste for Practice-sponsored groups.


The Walk From Obesity, however, is not limited to any specific practice -- or is not supposed to be limited to a specific support group, practice, etc.  So if your group gets it underwritten, make sure it gets published and I'll publicize it.

I looked into it last year, but dropped it because of the registration fee issue too. I think normally, a program underwrites it and I thought that Duke was considering doing it, but maybe I was mistaken or they changed their minds. 

If anyone hears anything about it, I'd be game!
