It's all so new

I feel like so many things have changed in my life since March 18 when I had my WLS.  The vast majority of those changes have been extremely positive!  It may sound odd but for the last 3 weeks or so, I feel like I notice things a lot more - the color of the trees, the shape of flowers, the smell of cut grass.  I have this vision of my boyfriend taking me fishing this summer and me actually enjoying being outside.  I want to go hiking with my sister and her family next spring, too.  I think that I am going to enjoy the outdoors more because I will be more comfortable outside.

With my new found changes, I am going to attend the Meet Up on the 15th.  My mother, who has been a wonderful supporter, is coming, too, because she likes the info regarding my surgery.  She says it helps her to be supportive of me when she understands.  I think, though, that after that first meeting I will attend alone.  I'm nervous about meeting new people, but I'm excited as well.  I love getting new ideas, hearing other peoples stories, and just gaining insight and friendships.

I guess that's all for tonight.  I bought two work out dvds tonight at Target and am looking forward to starting one tonight, so on that note, goodnight to all and best wishes!

I'm delighted that you will be joining us. You are most welcome to bring your mother. Many of our members bring friends, spouses and family members. Some bring them now and then, some bring them all the time. Do what works best for you and your mother. I also host weeknight meetings throughout the month and you are welcome to join us for those as well.

I have to say that I cannot believe how much more I enjoy being out and about since losing the extra weight. It's not only easier to move around, but I also handle the heat sooooo much better now than I did before.

See you soon!

It will be great to meet you on the 15th.

As Barb mentioned, feel free to bring along whomever you choose. My hubby comes about 2-3 year. He came to the April meeting. Not sure if he is tagging along in May.

Love to hear you are stopping to 'smell the roses' and planning some new adventures! Don't be too nervous. We re a great bunch of folks who are in different places on our journey, ready and willing to listen and share in a non-judgmental and very supportive manner. You will definitely leave with some new friends and some new ideas to try.

see you soon!

So many unexpected changes occur after the surgery - it can be almost overwhelming but at the same time it's so incredibly rewarding. I think it's part of the new you waking up. Appreciating the small things. I think it took so much energy and effort to simply exist prior to surgery that we sort of muddled through on auto-pilot regardless of how much we thought we were "living".

Enjoy this brand new you.
