Sunday Checkin
Good Morning All!
Please take a few minutes to touch base and let us know how you are doing.
I'm getting ready to clean out the fridge, take inventory and then make it to the grocery store. I never did get to Trader Joe's earlier in the week and I've been kind of limping along since I got home last week. It always makes it hard for me to plan meals and cook when I'm not sure of what I have in the fridge.
Last night I made a chicken dish with a rice pilaf and fresh green beans. My daughter is working on eating healthier too and when I was throwing together dinner I was realizing that I didn't have nearly enough fresh fruits and vegi's around, so that's something that I'll see about correcting today.
I'll also probably see about trimming down some stuff in the kitchen. As we downsize, and the new kitchen will be about 1/3 to 1/4 the size of my current kitchen, I really need to take stock of what I really use for food prep, storage, foods, etc... Now that I've got body trimmed down, it looks like it's time to trim down my kitchen and the rest of my house. Hopefully, I'll find it liberating in it's own way.
Ben and Sarah are off to the gym to work out. I'm going to head off to the kitchen to take care of some business. Hopefully, later today we'll do something fun and/or get to spend some time out in the beautiful springtime weather.
Have a great day!

I love Sunday's.... today i'm going to do some outside things. I need to clean up some weeds/limbs and hang some planters. Yesterday on the way home from our Raleigh meet-up, i stopped at Atlantic Avenue Garden Shop and picked up a few hanging baskets and some Koi for our little pond.
The plants are BEAUTIFUL... i never heard of this place until yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their garden plants. Sooooooo.... i put the koi in the ponds and this morning when i went out to feed them what did i see??? NOTHING!!!! i've looked, and looked and looked.... and no KOI!!!! Did predators come in the night and eat my fish???? I really hope not. I'm hoping they're hiding until they get acclimated a little more.. but i don't know... i've been looking for hours now and don't see anything. We'll see as the week goes on. I hope if they're hiding they don't starve before they get acclimated.
Moving on with my day, i'm gong to work for the rest of the day. I have a bunch of stuff to get ready before a client meeting Tuesday.
I had my usual breakfast this morning... FF cottage cheese, fresh blueberries & Anne's Good Health Energy nuts. Lunch will be fish (no my Koi) left over from last nights dinner, And dinner will be home made chicken soup with Gnocci. Not bad... i'll stay within my calorie requirements, and will get plenty of protein. Can't wait to get off these last few pounds.
BTW... it was good to see everyone at yesterday's meetup!! We had a full house and it's great seeing less of everyone!!! Now all we need to do is find a better place for us to get together. Perkns is just too small....
Hey Judy,
I hope that your Koi come out of hiding soon and weren't a nibble for the local racoons. Keep us posted and let us know when they come out of hiding.
You are so right about the beauties at Atlantic Avenue Garden Shop. It's filled with sooo many lovelies. Once we get settled, I'm sure we'll be stopping by to find a few things to dress up our new digs.
As soon as I can, I'll start looking for a new venue for the Monthly meetings. I know that Perkins is not ideal, but at least it does provide a private room or set of rooms that accomodate us for the time being. I'll let you know if/when I find a better solution.
Enjoy the outdoors before you have to settle in getting ready for your meeting.
See you soon,
Barbara
