Back At Home!!!

Well, I'm back at home! Surgery was on Monday and I got to come home Tuesday afternoon around 3. I am soooo glad to be home!!! The hospital was rough, waking up every hour, drawing blood, taking vitals, etc. I walked 8 laps on the surgical floor ( I really wanted to go home! Dr. Pryor said I was being a superstar :) I slept the rest of the time. (Thanks Lady Steeler for sending me a message!!! It was much appreciated! <3

Hubby has been taking care of me like a pro. Forcing the protein and keeping me stocked up on popcicles, the best liquid ever! Honestly, the gas is the worst pain. Finally was able to pass gas, which made me feel a lot better (I'm sure you all want to know this!). Been walking out on the deck and trying to work on my grad class today. Papers don't stop for bariatric surgery, apparently!!! I've only been taking pain meds before bed and sometimes in the afternoon, mostly for incision pain. The incisions are sooo small, I think they'll heal well.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, I appreciate each and every one of them! Can't wait to meet some of you at the support group!

Glad you are home! One day in the hospital! Impressive! Superstar is right! Did she play some music in the OR?

I hated the every hour visit from the nurse. My day nurse was a guy and he was the best! Walking 8 laps? 2 was my limit. I was loopy from the morphine. That little drip was a doozy!

The walking will help the gas move. Even if we did not want to know it, we know it! Since you brought it up, here I am 4 years later and sometimes my gas has a mind of it's own. It is coming when IT gets ready! Makes for some fun days!

Anyway rest up and hope to meet you soon!

Yeah, my day nurse was a guy, too. He didn't seem old enough to be a nurse! There were only 9 patients on my wing in the time I was there. Oh yeah, I ran that morphine drip out twice! ha!
