Experienced Sleeve surgeon in NC?

I'm a recent NC transplant.  My husband works in Buies Creek and we are trying to sell our home in Wisconsin and find a house here.

His insurance is Blue Options (high deductible) which excludes sleeve surgery as investigations.  However, I have heard of at least one person appealing successfully.  I'm gathering my ammunition!

That said, does anyone know of an experienced sleeve surgeon?  Because if the doctors here don't have much experience with this surgery, I will just self pay and find someone I'm comfortable with.

I am being sleeved on 4/28 in Mexico, but talked to Paul Enochs in Cary. I was comfotable with his skill and practice, but couldnt handle the self pay price. Dont remember exactly right now but I believe it was over $25k.

Welcome to NC.  Not sure where Buies Creek is.  But my surgeon has lots of experience with the sleeve, Dr. Heider in Mooresville.  My insurance would not cover it so I have opted for the Lap Band.  Best wishes with the move.

Thanks for these suggestions. I'll give it a try with Blue Cross. If I decide to self pay, I'll probably go to Mexico. Looking forward to meeting you all some day!

I am also seeing Dr. Heider in Mooresville.  I am having the sleeve done on April 19.  I have BCBS ins.  At first they said no then said case by case bases.  They approved me.  Dr Heiders office was great at all the insurance stuff and Cindy REALLY works hard for you.
Dr Heider is very experienced with this procedure.  They are alot of pt's that opt to pay out of pocket so they can proceed.  He told me the sleeve is cheaper than RNY and lap band (lap band has out of poceket for each fill).

BTW welcome to NC I hope you enjoy it here.

Does anybody know anything about the bariatric practice in Cary?  That is a lot closer to me.
