Are there any DS Support Groups in North Carolina?

I had my DS (Duodenal Switch) done last year by Dr. Husted in Kentucky.  I recently moved back to North Carolina and would like to find a support group.

Also,  are there any DS surgeons locally?  Or Weight Loss Surgery friendly family Doctors to go to for my labs?

Welcome to NC and congratulations on your fabulous success. I believe that there are a couple of Drs in NC that do the DS. Dr. Ranjan Sudan at Duke is one that I know of, I believe that there is someone in the Charlotte area as well. I'm not sure where you are located, but I am in the Raleigh area and hold support groups here. We do not yet have a specific DS special interest group, but may start one if we have enough interest. We do have a couple of patients who have had DS and I'm sure that they would be glad to talk with you. 

There are none that I know of, but there are a handful of Dr. Sudan's patients (and hopeful patients) that are planning on meeting for lunch occasionally.  Truffles and I are driving down from VA on 5/17 for follow ups (she'll be 3 months out and I'll be 6 months out) and are meeting with 2 (right now) hopeful Sudan DSers in Durham.  Where are you going to be located?

You may want to meet w/AngelaP as well. She had her DS in GA w/Dr. Smith, but is a little over a year out and she has been wonderfully successful. If there is enough interest I'll be glad to see about scheduling a monthly DS special interest group through my group as well. I've done for banders, grads, etc... with some real success. Just let me know if you are interested.
