Yesterday was a day filled with errands. We started out the day with the roofing contractor and signed a contract for services. Then it was off to several stores to pick up needed items and groceries. I finished off my laundry for the week and watched some of the Daytona races.
I had a good day with my food plan. It really helps me to do several mini-meals. I made a pot of veg/beef soup for lunches this week.
Today I will have a "girls day out" with my best friend. Since the snow storm has rearranged my schedule for next weekend, I moved some of next Saturday's plans to today. We will travel to the Raleigh area and stop at some of our favorite stores to browse. Of course no trip to Raleigh is complete for me without a stop at Trader Joe's and World Market. Then it will be home for a dinner with my Valentine!
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day!

I plan to go to church this morning. Come home bake some desserts for our dinner tonight. Fix some tea. I also need to finish some laundry and vacuum.
This is the first year our daughter has had a Valentine! She is between grossed out and excited. It is so funny. They will exchange their valentine's at church tonight...too cute! She is almost 13. This little fella is cute as a button and very polite. They have known each other their whole lives. You never forget your first boyfriend. I am very thankful that she has such great taste. She has high standards which I am very proud of. She has always been the type of kid that she knows what she wants!

Today is Lee's birthday so I bought him a race car model set which he loves and started to put it together soon after opening it LOL
I fixed him his favorite breakfast of pancakes and bacon.
I thought about having a pancake but decided not to have that so I had one egg and half a slice of esiekiel bread toasted and am happy with that choice.
For Valentines Day Lee gave me a pink bear and a cute monkey that says funny things when you press the button.
To top it all off OMG he gave me 8 bags of SF candy it is the Russell Stover all kinds.
They are made with splenda.
A serving is 3 pieces but since my sweet tooth no longer controls me any more I have a feeling I will still have plenty of candy by this time next year.
Lee is going to fix lunch he said we were going to have surf and turf.
He can have the turf and I will stick with the surf.
Also going to workout today.
BTW yesterday I shoveled for about 30 minutes.
I would have never thought me of all people would be shovling snow.
In my past I was not able physically to even think about shovling snow.

Yesterday was kind of boring. I'm feeling soooo much better I want to get up and do laundry, starighten up the house, etc but my husband said NO! That is my present from him this year. He is taking care of everything. He has been such a good husband and support for me this week. It reminds me how much I love him and he loves me.

As for food choices, guess I will stick to the normal today, lots of liquids and as much protein as I can tolerate. I beleive the protein has helped with my recovery so much. SF popsicles have been a life saver! The tropical flavors are great, they seem to have more flavor.
As for activities today......not much of anything! I will be working from home this week so I do need to make sure I have everything at hand for that.
Hope everyone has a great day with your love and if you don't have a love of your life, remember to love the life you have!

Since we're in the middle of Feb, work is slowing down a little and I feel able to breath and I'm sure my blood pressure has gone down quite a bit. Add to that, hubby has had another surgery (i pray his last) and we hope and pray that this is finally the end of his GI problems. He came home from the hospital yesterday, and is feeling better than he has since before Christmas!!! HOOORAY! That takes such a load off of my mind and so much stress off of my shoulders!!
Today we did absolutely nothing!!! i sat around and read, and he laid around and napped most of the day. It's exactly what we both needed. I fixed him a lovely steak dinner, which he was able to eat with no problem. So for me, life is looking up...
I hope you all had as good a day as I did!!! It's so good to be back among friends!
Hi All,
It's good to see everyone and I have to say that I miss you all. The stress level is still VERY HIGH!! Yesterday was a family visit with the SIL that I had to call the police to remove from the property. Actually, it all went relatively smoothly, but the 1 hour visit turned into 6 and I invited them to dinner since it was ready and I didn't think I could say "Well, it's time for dinner, so thanks so much for coming. We'll see you later." Last night's dinner was for 20 or so. Thank goodness my son made the meat portion and my BIL did the cleanup. I've been doing dinner for about 12 since I got here and to be honest, it's been wearing a bit thin, so I really appreciate the extra hands pitching in. Of course, the SIL that was creating an issue with my FIL never lifts a finger and didn't say thank you... UGHH!!! Okay. Enough grumbling.
I'm still really having trouble with constipation even though I'm trying to drink more. I'm pretty sure it started because I wasn't drinking enough. I have tried Miralax, Citrate of Magnesium, and Exlax. Hopefully something will cure it soon.
Ben and I are struggling with what to do in the short term and the long term regarding caring for Ben's mom and dad. To be honest, this is two person job since we have two people that require 24/7 care. I don't know if I will stay or Ben will, but Ben will not be returning on Tuesday as planned. We will be taking my FIL, Dale to see the oncologist on Wednesday to get the results of the biopsy. He is grasping at straws and hoping that the fact that the oncologist doesn't want to see him until Wednesday must mean that it's not too serious. Actually, it couldn't further from the truth and apparently they will be lowering the boom when they let him know just how BAD it is. It's not that they haven't told him, but as I think most people would, he's clinging to hope beyond reason.
Long term care for his mom is likely a whole other issue we need address. Our moving out here is on the table, but aren't sure if it's the right thing for us to do. Right now we are praying for wisdom and guidance.
