Newbie!

Just got started with the WLS process. Sort of nervous about a life changing decision. Any helpful information you can share would be great!

Welcome to the NC forum.  You will find everyone very friendly and supportive here, although it may be a little inactive since so many are enjoying the holidays with friends and family. 

I also used Dr. Classen.  The staff and Dr. Classen are wonderful and I have been very happy in my choice.  I had done research on RNY for 2.5 years before I even went to the informational seminar.  After the seminar, everything went very quickly as Village Surgical had all my tests lined up and submitted to BCBS for approval.  I was given approval within 2 days of submit.

Welcome to the NC forum. As Carrie mentioned, it's been pretty quiet here lately with the holidays, but keep coming and asking questions. We'll do what we can to help you.

I would suggest that you check with your insurance to find out what their restrictions are regarding WLS. I'd also look into the different types of surgeries available. There is no 'perfect' surgery, but there are pro's and con's to each type and it will help you to find the best solution for you. 

I will share that this has been the best decision I have ever made for me...

Hi Phyllis, I too live in Dunn. Dr. Davidson was my surgeon. They are great! I was very very nervous but don't regret it for a minute!!! I had my surgery 7/20/09 and I've lost 93lbs. so far! Feel great!!! Just do exactly as the Dr. tells you, you'll do fine. Good luck!!!
