Hi, Renee ~

Congrats on your upcoming surgery.  What a wonderful holiday gift to give to yourself!  I can't offer any tricks, but just listen to what your surgical team tells you to do.  It's hard at first, but it gets better everyday, and before you know it, you'll be sitting here like me, hardly believing that a little over a year ago I weighed 337 lbs, and now I am at 178.....below goal!

This board is SO helpful and encouraging.  You will get lots of good information from people who have "been there", so never be afraid to ask questions or post comments!

Good luck to you next week.  See you on the loser's bench!

Congratulations on your upcoming big day!!!!  My surgury has truly been the greatest life changing event that could have happened to me.  My best advise is to NOT CHEAT.  Do exactly what your surgeon tells you.  Sugar Free Popsicles are fantastic in the beginning.  Walk Walk Walk Walk Walk!!!!!!!!!  And enjoy each day as you will quickly slim down and feel wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Renee,

You have gotten excellent 'advice' from my peers here, so I'll just welcome you and encourage you to come ask questions. I think you will find this board to be particularly warm and welcoming. As others have suggested, be sure to follow your program's guidelines. What you can and cannot eat really varies from one program to another, so while you may well find another member who has gone through your program and can answer a dietary question, others may have a different experience. Always follow your own program's guidelines.

Wishing you every success as embark on the journey of your life!
