OK I want to toss this one out there to see if anyone has done this.  The only problem I had with my surgery was that my heart went into A.Fib.  Now I knew this might happen but thought meds would help.  Now my doctor is going to try cardioversion.  He says that I will be asleep during this but I still want to know if you will feel pain or remember any of what they do.  Has anyone had this done that can help calm me down............................

Hi Matthew,

I haven't had direct experience with this, but I'd suggest cross posting your question to the Main, VSG and possibly RNY forums. You may well get some input from someone with experience by casting a wider net.

My sister has had A-Fib and they prescribed cardioversion for her. She decided against it. Personally, I think I would have done it. Here is a link describing the procedure: http://www.caccllc.com/tests_cardioversion.htm. They do sedate you when performing the procedure and my sister said that the told her that she wouldn't remember anything or feel pain afterwards.

I wish you all the best.
