If you haven't made a friend of someone at BCBS, call tomorrow and talk to someone there. Ask her to help you and tell her your whole story, including the fact that you would always diet right before going to the doc. Ask her if you can fax her more info from your doc to show years of obesity. And get any other records you may have that would show the weight. Perhaps records from other docs? Just keep going, and make sure to get someone on the inside who will help you.

Explain to them why you wernt m/o for 4 of the past 5 years. I had BCBSnc as well - I only met 3 of the 5 years because I had taken diet pills and my weight dropped.... I had to appeal three times but finally got approved. Basically I told them I shouldnt be punished by choosing UNSAFE methods of weightloss that obviously were only a short term solution because I regained all the weight back and then some.
If you have more information to send... then send it... you dont only have to send 5 years, you can send more to show you are a yo-yo dieter which is very unhealthy!
First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
