Anywhere to eat decent seafood in G-Vegas on hospital side of town? TODAY!!

I'm NPO since midnight last night and have to stay that way till my endoscopy at noon at Pitt today. I'm SOOOOOOOOOO thirsty, but have been wanting some grilled scallops for a week now.  Can't think of anywhere down there so I though I'd post since me and daddy (my designated driver of the day) will be hitting up somewhere after I'm OUT. I may just take some out of the freezer to saute for supper tonight, but thought I'd check to see if I'm missing somewhere down there.

hey Wendy, sorry didn't see this until now @ 2:35... you have probably already eaten by now.  I don't know of anywhere on this side of town for seafood... sorry.  Sometimes CPW's by Foodlion has good seafood selections on their menu.  It is a very good place to eat.  They are responsible for at least 25 pounds of my excess weight So let me know how the procedure went and what, if anything they found.  I hope you are feeling much better by now.  Alice

Yay, we are a little late in posting, but I thought I'd share in case you head this way again... Dixie Queen in Winterville has great seafood... I'm sure they have broiled as well as fried... It's been around a LONG time and is a mom/pop kind of place. Mayflower has broiled seafood too-- it's also in Winterville, but just off Memorial Drive.  Dixie Queen is in downtown Winterville.  I hope you are able to get some scallops soon!!! :)

Thanks y'all.  I'm afraid Winterville is on the "wrong" side of G-Vegas for me coming in to docs and hospital on 264.  But I also forgot from the last endoscopy that I have to wait TWO HOURS afterwards to drink or eat, so that was by the time we were back in Zebulon.   I took some scallops out of the freezer this morning and they've been draining on paper towels all day so they will be nice and "dry" and will sauté to a nice golden caramelized natural "crust" in a few minutes.  I also forget about a little lobster tail I had bought and threw in the freezer so I thawed that too... so in a little while, it's scallops and lobster for supper for moi!

For future refference, try Riverside Steak Bar. It's in a small strip accross Stantonburg road from the hospital, right next to JA's Uniform shop. If you are traveling past the hosptial on Stantonsburg Rd heading towards Arlington Blvd, the resturant is on the left as you are just passing the hospital.  They have awesome grilled shrimp and scallops!
