ANYTHING CLOSE TO CHARLOTTE

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS GOING TO BE ANYTHING CHRISTMAS EVENTS IN CHARLOTTE FOR WLS PEOPLES?? I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE FROM HERE IN PERSON. I AM IN ALBEMARLE IT IS ONLY 45 MINS. AWAY......HOPE EVEYONE IS DOING GOOD AND DOING SOME SHOPPING. I DID MINE OVER THE COMPUTER. THIS TIME I DID TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT...LOL...LOL...LOL.......

The support group at Presby Hospital is doing our Xmas celebration on Monday the 17th at 630pm... its the same date/time as our typical support groups but we are all to bring a WLS friendly dish. The meetings usually last an hour to hour and a half. Our group has a good turn out - last meeting there were around 30 people there Id say. Would love for you to come!

PRESBY IS WHERE I HAD MY GBS DONE. EVERY TIME I AM IN THE HOSPITAL THE NUTRIT. TRIES TO GET ME TO COME TO THE MEETINGS. I AM SCARED TO LOL.....I KNOW I WOULD LOOK OUT OF PLACE. SHE WANTED ME TO COME AND LEARN TO EAT HEALTHY AND HOW TO EAT. I JUST DON'T EAT. I FORGOT HER NAME. SHE IS A DARK SKIN LADY THAT IS SUPER NICE TO ME. THE OTHER LADY THERE I TOLD HER BUTT OFF AND RAN HER OUT OF MY ROOM. I TOLD HER AND TOLD HER I HATE ANYTHING WITH MILK. SHE KEPT BRINGING IT FOR ME. SHE FOUND IT ALL IN THE TRASH CAN. WE HAD A BIG BLOW OUT. SHE REFUSED TO COME IN MY ROOM. LOL THE NICE ONE TOLD ME ABOUT A STORE IN CHARLOTTE CALLED TALLIES THEY SELL MAKE YOURSELF PEANUTBUTTER. A NATURAL STORE. I NEED TO FIND IT. I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU ALL. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I BELONG ANYWHERE I AM CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE. I HAVE WENT TO THE ANOREXIC BOARDS AND MOST OF THEM ARE LIKE 13-16 YEARS OLD. HONEY I AM A OLD WOMAN THE BIG 43....I WILL THINK OF COMING. I HOPE SOME MORE OF NC PEOPLE WILL BE THERE.

I believe you are talking about Anju (dark skin lady who is nice)... she will pop into the meetings now and then but they are ran by a wonderful woman named Lin. You shouldnt be scared to come!! Its really a great group that is very diverse - all sorts of people go :-) There are quite a few people from this board that go. I can definately understand it being intimitated - if you want to come just let me know, a few of us sometimes meet up before hand... even if you just wanted to do that and skip the meeting it would be fine with us!

As far as I know I should be there.... I hope so, I have missed the last 2 months.                   Tiffany

How far are you from Monroe?  (I was in Albemarle yesterday...)  I attend the support group meetings at CMC-Union and we have a BLAST!!!!   We meet the 2nd Tuesday night of each month in the Private Dining Room at 6:30 pm.  We are supposed to have healthy snacks tomorrow night and socialize at our meeting.  :)  Ya'll come!

Monroe is only 38 miles away.  I checked into it for you.  :)

Southeast Bariatrics is having their Christmas gathering tonight.....starts @ 6:30 and I am sure will go until 8ish. So it's probably too late for you now! Sorry!!!!

I didn't get to go to the support group I usually attend and North East Medical.  It was last Tuesday and that was only a couple days past surgery for me.   would anyone like to get together at another time possibly?  It would be awesome to meet new friends.   connie

I am in Charlotte and would to meet some more friends.  Keep me in mind if anything gets happening
