Hi Connie (and Nikki) -

Please know that you will both be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing Dena's posts that you both came through surgery with flying colors and are recovering gently.

Re: what to take ... I'd wear something to the hospital that doesn't bind at the waist. I actually wore a dress I could wear w/o a bra. The reason I wore a dress was so that I wouldn't have to have the waistband from my slacks anywhere near my incisions. You might want a small pillow to use to "brace" your tummy when you sit and stand. I put my list of stuff on my profile and you are welcome to check it out, but actually, I think that you will find that they are going to have just about anything you might need at the hospital, so just be sure you have some shoes/slippers you can easily slip into and don't worry about the rest.

Don't take: ... Don't take a gown or robe. They'll have hospital gowns that are suited to dealing with IVs and if you need one they'll just give you another to use as a robe. I found that magazines were a waste for me. I couldn't focus that much right after surgery.

I'm polishing up fresh seats on the loser's bench for you, Nikki and Ashley. I can't wait to have you sitting next to me!

Barb...Thanks so much for your kind words.  I really appreciate how sweet you always are.  Thanks also for the wonderful list on your profile.  There are some things I didn't even think about.  I hope that I dont' get bored....because then I will be outta my mind.  Thanks for the polish too...  you better get a large place ready....there are several NCers having surgery today, tomorrow, and the rest of the week.

Thanks again!

Yay Connie!!  Your day is almost here!!  Get a good night's sleep.  :) I took my own gowns (because I HATE HATE HATE hospital gowns) and my own robes.  I took my crocs for walking.  I took some toiletry items and my laptop with some DVDs to watch.  Mercy has WiFi, so I was able to surf the net too.   Good luck girl!

Connie, Best of luck to you tomorrow!  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!!!  Sounds like you have everything under control, just remember to bring something comfortable to wear home.  I didn't think about it and brought jeans and a t-shirt to wear home, I couldn't wear it so my Mom had to drive (1 1/2 hours) home to get me something.  Don't take your jewlry, I never found my watch and I know I had it pre-WLS.   God Bless you!!!
