I had major bruising after the surgery and it's still clearing up, but for the past 3-4 days the bottom half of my stomach hurts so much it's hard to get up and down or move.  It really feels like a bad sunburn.  Has anyone had this problem?  If so, what did you do?  Alice

Its nerves in the skin. I had to go around holding my stomach due to the same type of pain. It will get better.

That makes sense, I just wonder what caused it to just start up and it's much worse in the afternoon and evenings.  Seems to be better in the mornings for some reason.  I sure will be glad when it eases up.  Like you, I have to hold on my tummy when moving and it's wierd to do that in public.....  thanks for the reply!!!  Alice

Maybe the nerve is irritated as the stomach sags so after a night of lying down it's not as irritated.  But after being up during the day it gets worse?

Yes, I agree with the other ladies... sounds like some kind of nerve pain.  Could be shingles...  Have a look at Jill's profile where she experienced much the same thing. http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/jill23/blog_page,1/month,1/year,2007/action,view/uzone,blog/blog_id,64723/

Lord knows I had that burning, but it was across my back!  I said I could feel the fat seperating from my skin and it burned bad.  Now I have that same burn in my can!!!  Left side, very weird. Diane

Alice,I had a very similiar problem... it burned and stung just below my incisions and was extruciating when I got up or sat down. Bobbi at SS told me it was probably a pulled muscle, but I agree that it is either that or the nerves under the skin.  My friend who had the surgery two days before me also had the problem and Dr. Nazeri told him it was an internal stich that had torn. Dr. Mac told me I didn't have any internal stiches that low, so it has to be one of the other things.Either way, the best thing that helped me was a heating pad and the pain medicine. It will go away in a couple days, but it does hurt BAD at the time.  Praying it gets better for you soon!
