Having Foamies

I'm am 4 days post op feeling OK other than having the Foamies and spitting a lot not sure what  is triggering it,  I'm not having pain, and everything is passing OK....just was wondering was this normal....any Help any one can offer will be appreciated.....

Hi there and congratulations on having had your surgery!  It isn't uncommon to have "foamies" early on.  If it's troublesome, I would suggest cutting down on the size of my swallows as well as the total amount consumed in one sitting.  It will likely straighten itself out as your body becomes accustomed to its new rerouting. And you can always call your surgeon's office.  That's why he gets paid the big bucks!

Good to meet you, and Welcome!  I am not RNY but just wanted to say I had the foamies a few days back and they said it was normal.  Give them a call tho, just to make sure, everyone is different.  Congrats on your surgery! Nancy

Congratulations on your surgery.  Yes, this is pretty normal.  If you are vomiting every time you try to eat or drink, you need to call your surgeon.  It takes a while for everything to heal up and get used to the new routing.  Please keep us posted on how you are along your journey.  We are here to listen and help however possible. Thank you to all, everything stated was helpful.....I'm going to ride it out until my post-op because I'm not vomiting or even feeling nausiated.....Thank you everyone again....
