Does anyone feel like they can eat too much? I feel like I can eat more than I should. I don't know if it's because I had a rocky start or I'm just scared I'll be sick. I don't eat until I 'feel full' and I have never eaten until I've been sick. All though, Saturday night we all went to dinner after Autumn at Oz and I tried a bite of a roll... yummm... stupid! I felt like I would die after I was able to drink again.  It was like I turned into a bloated balloon. That was a first for me... praying for death can get very interesting! NO MORE BREAD! Not even a bite.  I guess what I'm saying is do you feel like you eat 'right' amounts? Am I just crazy?   I nibble and quit. The funniest thing about all this is the fact that I thought I would overeat and I've only been sick from drinking too fast! I'm a gulper and I have found out the hard way!

My doctor told me to be compulsive about three things, protein, taking my vitamins, and measuring my food.  At this juncture, you should probably be eating about a 1/4 cup per meal, at least according to my information.  That's only 2 ounces measured, not weighed.  It should take you at least   1/2 an hour to eat that.  I would suggest measuring your food compulsively for a time and seeing what you're actually eating.  Write it down for a bit, you should have a good idea of what you're eating, it's important for long term success. These are just guidelines and everyone is a bit different.  If you're not eating that much yet, it's okay, you'll get there later.  If you're eating more than that, it's okay.  Go by what your doctor's instructions say.  These are just my experience. Take care and God Bless. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

Thanks, Ellen.  I just feel like I should eat three bites and be done. In all honesty I usually am!  I guess I'm just amazed that I can eat!  Just one of those anti-food days.

At this point you really should still be measuring your meals... at least until 4/5 months out if not longer. That is the only way you will know if you are eating enough and not eating too much as well as ensuring you meet nutritional goals. It took me 5/6 months before I could truely tell I was full and satisified from what I ate. Over months 6-12 Ive really learned how to listen to my body and give it what it needs and nothing more. Measuring will also give you a good idea of what our portion sizes should be... youd be surpised how little a 'serving' of certain foods are (like almonds.. a serving is about 12... a SMALL palm full!). Make sure you are sticking to the 20 minute meal time as well so you are getting in enough food!

I still can't eat the full measured amount. I have the store owners and inventory clerk eating like me! It just seems like some servings are huge to me. I was told I was not eating enough. I'm still losing 4-6 pounds a week and getting in most of my fluids. I'm anti-food most of the day. It takes me forever to eat a full serving of anything.   Thanks for the input.  As long as I know I'm not eating too much/ too little we are set!  Hugs
