I can see it clear as a bell.  I am 48 lbs to goal and wondering, hmmm .... I am going to have to stop losing weight.  This brings on a new challenge of "maintenance."  Never in my life have I faced having to figure out how to stop losing weight.  I'm excited about the new challenge.  I gotta tell you I really enjoyed losing weigh****ching the scale go down brightened many days for me.  I can see how easy it would be to keep going, for a while.  I need to talk to Dr. Overby about this on my next appt. Oct 22.  Forgive me if I sound whiney and ungrateful.  I guess I've just been having too much fun here!   Love, Diane

WOW that must be a great feeling to know you have done so well and now you have the choice to stop and maintain or continue to lose.  You look great by the way.  I am still in the first stages of trying to get approved.  I do visit the message board everyday and it is very helpful to me while I am going through all of my required tests.  You are all an inspiration to me.  Good Luck with everything.

Take good notes how to maintain your goal weight. It will come in handy when the time comes for me.

For some the closer you get to goal.. the weight loss may slow down. Also typically our bodies 'should' naturally just stop when they get to a good point. For me I have a few pounds to goal... I drop a little here and there. When I last saw my NUT she said when I reach goal she will put me on the 'maintenance plan'... its very similar to how I eat now just slightly (and by slightly I mean 100-200 more calories etc) higher than how I eat now :-) Really I think the hardest part of maintenance will be keeping it up long term and not letting 'bad habits' slip back in. For now I find I dont really have to keep track of anything and just listen to my body and make good chocies... I keep my fingers crossed this will continue to work after I pass that 18 month mark! Congrats on all your success.

Diane -

Congratulations on your losses and your gains! ... Loss of weight, pain, health problems ... Gain of better health, longer lifespan, more endurance, more places to shop for beautiful clothes, beautiful haircut, ... You must be so proud of all the hard you've done to get where you are today.

Keep up the good work.

All the best,

Barb
