Well ~~ I finally had my first appointment with Dr. Bauman.  My Husband went with me and we both really liked him a lot.  Anyway he gave me the *LIST* a list of things that I need to do.  I went and had my physical yesterday, and WOW did they take a butt load of blood.  I have to have a UGI & Mammogram and I have those scheduled for next week, I have my Psychological eval on Sept 13. And am trying to schedule a appointment with the Nutritionist (playing phone tag).  Gosh once all this is done they will send it to BC/BS for approval.   It has taken me a little over a year to get all this to fall into palce, and since my appt with Dr. Bauman it seems as though it's moving along very fast.  I keep having these little bouts of nervousness & fear.  I know this is the best decsion I could have ever made, it's just weird I feel scared & excited all at the same time, sometimes it's just a little overwhelming.  Anyway I just felt like rambling about all of my tests and up coming appointments, nerves, and fears. I hope everyone has a great day!

Donna, You are experiencing completely normal emotions.  It feels so good to know that what you have worked on for a year is coming true, but at the same time you are SOOOO SCARED!   That is normal.  You are embarking on a life changing surgery.  You should be a little nervous.  I will tell you to sit back and enjoy every moment of this journey, because before you know it you too will be sitting on the Loser’s Bench with us!

Keep us posted on your journey and let us know if you need anything.. Have a great Wednesday!  Candice

Donna, Good luck with all of your testing.  The time will fly by!  I know it can all seem like a bit of a roller coaster ride.  Just hang onto your seat and you will do fine! All the best!

I had about 3 months from my first appointment with Dr. K. to my surgery.  It seemed to go by very fast, but I was so focused on getting my "homework" done that I was too busy to worry at first.   Fears are normal and I think I would be more worried if there were absolutely zero fears.  :)  You will be post-op before you know it!

Donna -

I know that I felt both excited and nervous. Like you, I knew that it was (and is) the best decision for me and my long term health, but that didn't keep from having a 'bout of the nerves. It is a life-changing experience in so many ways, so I think it's normal to have some feelings of trepidation, but as Candice and others have said this is so very normal.

Please don't feel as though your are "rambling" about your tests and and upcoming appointments ... We have all either been there or are going to be and understand.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Barb

P.S. Isn't it great to have a husband who is standing with you in your journey to a healthier life?

I couldn't do it without my husband, he is my #1 supporter,  not in the begining,  he was totally against it, but since going to a seminar, and my Dr. Appt he has come around  120%  although he is very worried about this surgery, (I think that's normal).  I'm just happy to have him in my corner.

Hi Donna, I have Dr. B also. I think he is very good and thorough in his profession. My first visit with him was on June 8 and My second visit will be next tuesday. Make sure you keep in touch with office about all your paperwork getting where it needs to be . Sometimes there is mis- communications with the paper shuffle. Girls at office are very nice.  My stuff may have moved slower because of him having to check out my previous surgery info. Just be patient.....I have a prob. there.  I have not gotten a date yet but am hopeful. If you need any help just pm me on blog....on love the music video on your blogg. Lots of Luck  Myrtis
