Lee and I just returned from shopping at HT and I made myself ride one of those automatic carts. I really did not want to ride one but Lee did not want me to ge to over tired. I agreed and actually had fun driving it. I start the baby food stage Wednesday and most all the baby foods we looked at other than veggies and meats had 11 or more grams of sugar. We even noticed some canned fruit with splenda listed 10 grams of sugar. What advice do any of you post ops have for this? Should I call my NUT to get more answers on this?                                                                 Annie

I never ate baby food.  I do think they meant meats though, when they told you to look at it.  At the soft stage, I ate cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, and peanut butter.  Takes a while to eat pb, it but sticks with you for a while.  Most all of those come in small containers which makes it easier.  Even the PB does. Good luck. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

I am still sticking with soup and such.  I guess I am staying with the full liquid phase.. but I am also working in eggs and cheese at times.  I never ate baby food either.  I even hated to feed it to my girls when they were little.  LOL

Hey Annie!  I went through the baby food/ pureed stage and my Nut actually suggested that we stay away from baby food just for the reason  you mentioned HIGH SUGAR and of course low protien.  There are lots of options out there for things that can be pureed.  I found that whatever my mom was cooking for dinner, I would just puree up some of the meat and have that for dinner.  My favoriate was spegetti sauce pureed with mozarella and/or ricatta.  Let me know if you are interested in this because I have a lot of recepies that I can share that I got from my Nut.  I will definately plan to bring some to you on Saturday. Look forward to meeting you atlast!
