Research Studies?
I'm involved with the LABS (Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery) research study and was wondering if anyone else is doing this as well or another research thing?
So far they've drawn pre-op bloodwork, had me walk 400 meters at a normal pace and report how I felt with each lap around the cones, and wear a Step Activity Monitor (SAM) for 7 days. Today is day 7 of me wearing the SAM. It hasn't been a bother really, but I'm glad I don't have to wear it anymore for a while anyways.
They'll take the data they gather now, then we'll repeat this process in a year from now and compare the two. I get copies of the findings which I think is very cool, I'll be able to see the differences in my activity levels.
I'll also have more bloodwork done at the 6 month mark, and maybe another time before the 1 year mark I can't remember right now, and then at the 2 year and 3 year mark. The study ends at the 3 year mark.
Anyone else involved with a research study?
