Jennifer -

I know I'll still be on the "soft" stage, but honestly you'll be surprised at the broad selection of things you can eat. Almost any seafood is great ... okay, stay away from clams, octopus, anything that gets rubbery, but the rest is really gentle. I honestly had more trouble with deviled eggs than I did w/a lovely, light crab ****tail. According to my nut. seasoning isn't an issue ... if you could handle spicy before, you still can by the time you are 3 wks out. Basically, if it's fork tender, low fat/sugar, and doesn't have skins/roughage, it's fair game, just go slowly.  You probably want to bring/have something that you've already had ...

I was thinking about bringing some of the little, tiny quiches ... I had some at a wedding reception I went to last night and they were soooo good and easy on my stomach

I just can't wait for our trip!

Jennifer, I will be your roommate, I don't eat beans! For all the "early outers" I'm making my ever so famous chicken barley soup; made with fresh veggies, well cooked shredded chicken breast and a very small amount of barley.  The way I do it is to purchase a rotisserie chicken fully cooked;  skin it, shred the meat and simmer it in chicken broth with my fresh veggies and barley; add my seasonings along with a touch of saffron for color and flavor and keep it warm in a crock pot.  I will also bring some whole wheat crackers with cheese and plenty of bottled water!   Hey FYI, I tried some of Wendy's chili (for $1) and I ate about 3 spoon fulls... I heard my pouch start to rumble..... well the rest is predictable... and the WORST EVER.  No beans for me please.  I will leave the beach without a single friend left and probably banned from OH!!!
