Hi Barb and everyone on the NC board.  I did indeed have my surgery on the 21st at Chapel Hill.   Dr. Farrell said it was a 'no complications' procedure.  Thursday wasn't too bad but OMG Friday I was wondering 'why did I do this to myself?' The pain was excrutiating and the morphine was giving me a severe headache.  When I finally was awake enough to tell the nurses about the headaches they got my pain meds switched for me.  So on Saturday I woke up and felt much much better.  I got to come home this afternoon and have been just hanging out with my family and napping alot.   One question for all of you post-ops...how long before your stomach is not all distended and hard?  I feel pregnant for goodness sakes. Anway tomorrow I'll figure out my ticker thing and shove all of your shrinking butts over on that losers' bench so be ready I'm a comin.  Thanks Barb for your concern.  I don't know why the hospital said I wasn't there, maybe they'll forget to bill me...LOL! Have a good evening!  E

Congrats. I remember being disteneded in the belly for a few weeks.  I do tend to swell in the stomach though.  I have swelled with all my belly surgeries. Welcome to the loser's bench.  You can have a seat or sit on someone's lap. Jen

Hi Ethel -

I am so very glad to hear that you are well and had an uncomplicated procedure. You have so very many people that were concerned for you and wishing you every blessing.

I also had an issues with my pain meds, but as with yours they were resolved and I felt much better afterwords.

My stomach slowly lost that "pregnant" feel over the first week home.

Your spot on the loser's bench is already dusted off and polished up.

Please feel free to give me a call or send me a note if you have any questions or just want to talk.

Barb

((((Ethel))))

WELCOME BACK!  Isn't Dr. Farrell the BEST!  I had the same headaches (from hell) with the morphine!  Once switched over to injections, I was fine.  Welcome to the LOSER's BENCH!  Slide over yall!  Are you going to the support group meeting on Tuesday?  Will you be well enough for that?  I may not go.. being I work 2nd shift and all.  I need to save my vacation days because I'm going to PANAMA CITY, FL for a week in December.  Pure R&R in a Sunspree Resort, on the beach, with a very handsome, 100% USDA hunka hunka burning love MAN.   ha!  Doesn't get any better than that!  Keep well, my friend!
