I'm Home and Doing Fine!

Thanks to all for you care, concern and consideration. I'm home and I fine.

I've been out to walk the dogs.

I've had a lovely shower.

I' drinking at least 8 ounces of fluids an hour and 2 of that is protien

I'm charting what goes, what comes out, what I do ... etc.

Other than the hunger I feel right now, I really am doing well.

Thanks again to everyone who was concerned for me during my surgery and immediate recovery. The "nick" in the colon was taken care of with a resection of the bowel. While I had hoped to to sail through without any "complicatications" I'm glad that it was taken care of and has been tested to ensure that the resection of the bowel is working correctly. Bonus! I don't have to have another colostomy done for years! That looked great too!

Thanks for the update Barbara!  It's good to have you back posting with us.  I'm sorry you had to have the complications that you did, but it seems that you are putting a postitive spin on it all and that's a good thing!!!  I hope you continue to feel well and that the road ahead is smooth for you.  We have all been thinking of you and praying for you and will continue to do so.  Good luck! Hugs, Donna

Thanks for your note. I look forward to having things go smoothly from here on out. I know that my "complication" is nothing to sneeze at and that it is a known complication of laproscopic surgery. It lenghthened my actual surgery time by about 2 hours. I'm sorry that it happened and grateful that it was able to be taken care of w/out "opening me up" which was part of the discusssion.  I hope to move forward with little or no complications arrising from the bowel resection.

Thanks for watching out for me. I'm glad to be back.

Hey Barb, Looks like our prayers were answered!  Thank the Lord!  We were really worried about you.  I apologize for disturbing your family.  I was concerned about you and just wanted to know you were ok.  Keep well, Diane

Dearest Diane -

Thank you so much for you did. I appreciate it more than words can convey, as does my dear husband. He said he was glad to talk with you, but unfortunately you must have had a sixth sense about when I'd taking a nap.  Pleases do know that I'm really doing well and all of the prayers and well wishes from my friends at OH are truly appreciated.

Thank you again,

Warmly,

Barb

Barb, You do not listen, you were to stay out of trouble, not get in trouble....must have been wax in the ears that froze during surgery(hahaha) Glad everything turned out OK.  You are my hero if you can drink 8 oz in an hour...I am just about 3 weeks tomorrow and just now getting down 8 ozs an hour.  But I have had some problems with nausea (terrible).   Down from the 215.1 to 197 so i am more than happy.  Popsicles sugar free have been my best friend.

Okay! So where do I get my cape or crown, or whatever hero's wear. I'm really lucky so far. I think I had the "bad stuff" in the beginning and so far, so good.

Let me know how things go for you.

Barb

P.S. I'm going for a stash of popcicles soon :-)
