My daughter is having bariatric surgery, HELP ME!
I understand so much Barbara! I hope that your husband is ok. I also know that this is a busy time for you. If your schedule doesn't permit, that is ok. I just wanted to see you before you went in. Please know either way, I am definately thinking about and praying for you in this journey. Take care, Candice
Just being there for her is great! It was such a comfort to me to have my mummy with me -- she came for the surgery and stayed several weeks post op. We had a great time and I don't know what I would have done without her. She was wonderful.
About your daughter: She is going to be grumpy before and after surgery. Just forgive her. She will be tired and very easily fatigued. Naping is a good thing -- you can eat then. She will be scared before surgery and wondering why the heck she screwed with her body after surgery. Remind her why she is doing this -- so she can be around to take care of you when you're old (joke). Finally, do some research or pick up a book on WLS -- I like the Dummies one -- but remember that no matter what the books or internet says keep in mind that everyone progresses at different rates. She may be on her feet ready for a marathon the day after surgery where others take much longer to bounce back. Or, she may not be able to move onto solid foods as fast as the experts tell you she can. Its ok. Everyone is different. Let her go at her own pace. All that being said, don't be afraid to push a bit. Make sure she walks, follows the doctor's orders or keeps to the pouch rules. We all need a bit of reinforcement. I know I did.

Good to see you both have dates now and will be on the losing side in a few more days. It was nice meeting both of ya'll at the April support group meeting and I wish both of you good luck on the road ahead. Hold on tight because your in for an incredible journey. I should know, after losing 236lbs over the past 16 months. Hope your both planning to attend the support group this Saturday at the Ruby Tuesday's on Capital near I-540 at 11AM.
Good Luck,
Tim
Hey Tim!
Nice car there! And you look great in it! You have accomplished so much. It is very encouraging to hear and read your story. Great to hear from you too!
I would love to come to the group this Saturday, but I will be traveling on Friday to Nashville and then Chattanooga for a conference. Please keep me apprised as the event schedule evolves for July. I would love to come out. Hopefully, my mom will be here by then and can join me.
Nonetheless, see my hellos to everyone and I look forward to seeing you at the July meeting.
Candice
