What a great experience.....

Yesterday I finally got around to switching out my summer clothes for my winter ones. I bagged up 4 bags of summer and winter 5x and 6x, and some larger 4x, clothes. I guess I'll give them to Goodwill, unless someone close by wants them. I sat there folding them up and putting them in bags crying. If I never see a pair of Lane Bryant knit pants again, it'll be too soon. I don't think I thought this was really happening to me until yesterday. Incidentally, I sit here typing this in a size 24 t-shirt. I haven't worn a 24 in 13+ years. I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful Monday. Take care. ~Ellen

Ellen, What a fantastic post! Congratulations! I still have a ways to go until I can give up the stretch pants. But I know it won't be long. I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to get into in over 3 years. I am happy with that for now. I want so much more and I know a year from now I will be where I need to be. God Bless Ellen. Diane

I haven't totally given up the stretch pants. Just those knit Lane Bryant ones. Anyone that's been a 5x or more knows exactly what I'm talking about. And let me just say thank God for jeans with lycra in them! I'm just ecstatic because I can shop in Walmart now for anything I need. If I'm this excited about that, what will I be like when I can shop in regular stores for the first time? I can't even picture myself a year from now. Take care. ~Ellen

I would love to have the clothes. I'm not sure how far you are from Durham tho. I really need more 5x and 6x shirts right now. I wonder how much it would cost to mail them? I could pay to have them shipped to me. Send me a message or email ([email protected])

I think Durham is about an hour and a half from Greenville. If you were coming this way I'd be happy to meet you somewhere. I think that it would be cost prohibitive to mail it, it'd probably be cheaper to buy new yourself. If you're heading this way anytime soon, let me know. Take care. ~Ellen

Psst.... I had Gastric Bypass surgery. I guess the secret is: walk, walk, walk, protein, protein, protein, water, water, water. I think that it just takes a while to realize that the surgery is really working. I can't explain it exactly, but it's just a moment when it dawns on you that it's really happening. Take care. ~Ellen

Ellen, I felt emotional when I read your post. I guess because you seem more real to me because you are closer and had your surgery in Greenville too. I would love to buy some of your clothes. I usually wear scrubs @ work, so for outside of work, I have 3 pairs of pants that fit right now and 5 tee shirts that I wash and wear. They are really looking worn. I am in Grifton every Saturday. I can go to Greenville in less than 30 mins. Your picture is so pretty. I can't wait until I have my surgery. I can't even imagine loosing weight. I have tried so hard. Please let me know. I would be happy with a few items of clothing. That way others can get some. Let me know! I am so glad to hear that you are doing well. Keep posting. That way I will know what I can look forward too. ~Stacy~

I'd be happy to meet you somewhere to give you at least part of this stuff. Email me with the particulars of when you'll be nearby. I'm in Winterville, I'd be happy to meet you in Ayden if that would help. You can lose weight and this surgery does work. You and I both have so much to look forward to. It'll happen and we'll be there to cheer you on. Take care. ~Ellen

Congrats! This is terrific. I used Topamax since last July and I was able to get rid of my 5-3x's. I been working over 3 years to get the darn surgery and I had it last month! I haven't seen my weight under 250 in about 25 years! Today I am 227. I say good riddance to the x's! I am currently wearing a 2x or 3 x because the flab under my arms is massive. I just ordered my first pair of gap jeans! They have size 20 and it was on sale! I have never worn any jeans other than Lane Bryant. Congratulation, Ellen. Keep up the fantastic work! Antoinette
