I received a call from Carmen (Dr. Mitchell's patient coordinator) and... Well she indicated that I have all my clearances that I need but the psychological (appointment scheduled for May 21st). She then told me that she would expect clearance from Dr Weiner that week, at which time I would be scheduled to see Dr. Mitchell and my surgery would be scheduled. OMG---I don't know whether to be excited or nervous. Who am I fooling I AM EXTREMELLY EXCITED!!! This long process has so been worth it. One more step. You guys keep me in your prayers, I plan to put it all on the table with Dr Weiner, which can be a sad story, but no sympathy desired here. I want her to see my strength and for her to see how far I have come. I must believe that she will see my sincerity and honor that. You guys are my inspiration. Though I do not post very much, I am constantly reading your stories... Save me a seat on the bench...it won't be too much longer! Much love to all, Candice

Hi Candice, I have a dear friend from my church that lives in Sanford. She is interested in pursuing WLS with Dr. Mitchell in Pinehurst. Can you tell me what his co-pay is and if he accepts BCBS? Thanks. Diane

Hi Diane! Thanks for your message! Dr. Mitchell is fabulous...His initial application fee is $250. Because Dr. Mitchell's practice is considered a "Center of Excellence" BCBS approval is a breeze. I would highly recommend Dr. M's practice. It has been a good experience for me. Let me know if you want more specifics. Take care, Candice

You are getting closer, congratulations. I am waiting for my final surgeon's appointment, insurance has already approved. The wating can make you batty. Some days I get this feeling this will never really happen for me. I spend alot of time just thinking about life after surgery and I want it now! It is hard to be patient! Good luck to you! E

Hey Candice, I also only have one more thing to do, the nutrition class. I have already been to my psyc. I didn't have to return. I was honest with him and I told him alot of the stuff I have learned here. He was impressed by my knowledge, which I have to thank everyone here. What he was really looking for is to see that I knew that I have to change my eating. That the surgery is just a tool to help. I knew about the dumping, which was something he was stressing to me, but I told him about it. I learned about it from here. My nutrition class is May 23. We are running close together. I hope we can have our surgeries scheduled close together. I am so excited. I can't believe it is almost here. Before it was like a dream, but now it seems real. I can't sleep at night sometimes, because this is all I can think about. I wish you lots of luck! Let us know how it goes. Stacy

That is great Stacy! Sorry for the delay in my response. I have been in Orlando all week with very limited wireless access. Yayyyy...soooo happy to be home. I know what you mean about reality, it gets closer and closer. Before long we will be on the other side encouraging the pre-ops!!!

Candice Dear - I am absolutely delighted for you! I am so glad that you have decided to go ahead and do this for yourself. I am looking forward to our continued journey. You are an incredibly beautiful young lady, with so much give and recieve. I believe that this will be the year that you give to yourself ... and that you will receive a personal sense of empowerment. I hope that we will continue to stay in touch as we make this life changing journey together. Remember not to apologize for doing the things you need to do to take care of you. It is your right and responsibility to do so. Give me a call anytime! Your dear friend, Barbara
