Thanks for the info Jennifer. I am still pretty far away, but my doctor assures me I'll need plastics. Good luck with all of that stuff. Is there no possibility of insurance approval? Take care. ~Ellen

Wow. That is expensive to say the least. I was told to start documenting any incidences of rashes, hernias etc. that might encourage the insurance company to cover some of the costs. Any chance of that with your insurance?

I have BCBSNC... they will cover a panni but I do not want that... Im more "all or nothing" and want the best result possible with the belly. I also do not have issues with rashes and hernias. Ive seen 2 surgeons so far and they say it is getting harder and harder to have insurance pay and they pretty much leave it up to you to fight it out. Of course I would love them to pay for it but I really feel I have 0 chance because there is no medical necessity.

Thanks for that info! That's very valuable to know. It's way more than I thought it would be. But then again, so was RNY. And it was so worth it and I guess this would be too. I just have a ways to go before I need it. Thanks for sharing! ...Jill

Thanks for the info, Jennifer. Anybody know what the ball park for hospital costs would be?

They said about $5000 each time at presby... their rates go up and down but the lady at the PS office said its around 500$ that they change. Im not sure how much the rates would be if I had anything done at the in office surgical center... they said that would be if I only had arms/breasts done... they wont do thighs or TT in the office surgical center.

Hello Jennifer, WOW you look GREAT !!!!! I myself am hoping for a simple panni surgery, I know my insurance will not cover a full tummy tuck ( Shuck, they would not cover my RNY ) ...but since I continue to get rashed under my apron and exercise is become painful because of it I AM PRAYING, they will cover a skin removal. I have a appointment with Charlotte Plastic's they tell me some insurances will cover what I want, but since my company is self insured it is really up to the company to decide. All the folks that said no to my RNY have been eating crow at my wonderful results from having surgery and have told me , watching me lose so much has made them think twice about covering the surgery. so wish me luck AT my age I would love to have the full lift with the boob job, but I will settle with what I can get, now if I had funds I would go all the way and get the full job . I wish you all the luck in the world. Take care Allison
