What does her surgeon say about the pain? How about her Primary Care Manager. I would be insisting on some tests with them. Good luck. E

i had pain in my lower left quadrant for 4 weeks, got a ct scan that showed the surgery site was fine and then *poof* the pain disappeared overnight 3 days later.

YOu don't specify what type of pain she's having. IS it Bypass related, or muskoskelatal? Bypass doesn't fix all that ill's us and can cause new problems. Good Luck. I"d start with a PCP, as with chronic pain, there might not be a solution.

You dont mention how long its been since the surgery. I had minor cramps in every part of my abdomen for about a month and I still get something kind of like bad gas pains in my left side sometimes. If I eat certain foods my belly will hurt a little too. I think a general lack of activity can cause you to feel a lot of extra pain also. Even now, almost 3 months post op I feel better if Ive done something strenuous. I say if it is real pain, go to the surgeon and talk to him. If it is gas pain or something similar, all he is going to tell you is it takes time...in other words, dont waste mine.
