Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing good. I would like to introduce myself... my name is Kristi and I will do my best to be your (North Carolina) angel coordinator. A support angel is osmeone who you would keep in fairly close contact with throughout your journey. The angels 'job' is to support and help along a fellow WLS patient. We are all brothers and sister in this process and could use each others support. If you are interested in becomming an angel or would like to have an angel please contact me with: 1. name 2. location 3. status in the process (surgery date, or pre op status) 4. best way to contact you 5. a brief description of you, what you like, dislike, things that inspire you, things that make you smile on the worst days, something you think everyone should have in the house, pets, kids, anything you think is a part of your core person. Please email your information to me here or on [email protected]. I will contact you back within a few days. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you very soon. God Bless Kristi

Hi Kristi, I'm Sheila from Wilm, 43 yo single mom with 8 yo son, pt of Dr Bauman in Concord ( chose him for his stats- has a stellar reputation). I plan lap-band- self pay. Hopefully I am within 2 weeks of getting a surgery date. Maybe a date late Feb or early March ???Have my last pre-op required visit just next Tues in Concord with nut. eval. I would love an angel through this process. I have chatted with several folks on blogs and have 2 surgery buddies- but would like someone to be a sounding board with, support and advocate. I appreciate your offer to help all- Angels and those of us in need of an angel. I am not particular about a male or female angel, but would prefer someone who has had the lapband- this will be most helpful post-op. I love anything to do with the beach- usually surf fish with my son on weekends. I adore my choc lab and gold. retriever ( my 2 other children). I am a florist- so enjoy being able to create. Will benefit from an angel for encourages/supports/pushes and even nags about exercise. Sheila Again, Thanks! Sheila

I would love to be an angel and have one! My name is Rebecca Maltba, I am located in Gastonia, NC Right now I have my first consultation visit scheduled with Dr. Bauman in Concord, NC on Feb 22nd, 2007. I am hoping to receive the lap-band surgery, and I have all ready attended one of his seminars about it. Best way to contact me is through my email- [email protected] I am 21 years old, I have a BMI of 39.9. I have BCBSNC insurance, and I'm desperatley hoping they'll approve the surgery for me. I am a registered veterinary technician, so I love animals. I live with my fiance, who is also obese and hoping to get RNY. I'm just so excited about my lap-band process getting started and I can't wait to see how everything will unfold! I think it would be great if I could find a friend in the gastonia area who is in a similar situation as me, who would like to start working out. I actually do have a gym membership to planet fitness in Gastonia.....just not using it currently, heh. :-D But you better believe I'll be in there every day after my surgery! I am totally commited to this new way of life, and I plan to follow doctors orders to a T!
