My surgery update
Hi Guys. I posted Sunday but made and error and lost the post. Was too tired to repost.
Had my surgery last Tuesday (9th) It went well but I developed a fever and was not allowed to come home til Saturday. Just so you know: The pain level was a little high for me. I was a little envious of those who bounce right back. At 56 I don't seem to bounce. But I had tried to remember that this was temporary and I would get better. Each day brought improvement. I walked lots in the hospital and that helped with the pain. My husband never left my side, walking the halls with me at 2:30 and 3;00 in the morning. He was such a blessing to me.
I am surprised at the fact that I am not hungry. It has made the liquid phase of this much more tolerable. My sense of smell is still very good and I have decided to just enjoy the aromas and not fight them. I have observed that America has a pizza obsession. I have never seen so many pizza commercials in my life.
I have made great stirdes since I have been home. I look forward to being pain free and living normal and GREAT again. I am walking a mile a day.
BEST NEWS: This was done to improve my health. I was taken off my diabetic pills (3 total) and my blood pressure medicine since surgery. Praise be to God. This is 90 percent of why I had this surgery in the first place. Now, I want to look better.
SO hang in there for those that are coming this way. I am glad to be this far.
Diane
Congrats on having that much behind you. Hopefully it will only get better and better from now on. Sorry to hear about the fever. That's exciting about coming off those meds! I hope you feel better everyday and keep up the walking. I haven't had surgery yet (2 weeks from today) but from what I hear, that is extremely important for the recovery process and for the weight loss. I'm happy to see you have a supportive husband thru this. Congrats again!
