Hello to All, as I read all the post for you folks with your surgery up and coming it really puts a smile on my face I remember when I was a few days/weeks from my life saving surgery WOW !!! I was excited, worried, scared and well just a bag of nerves. I remember reading the board as often as I could asking questions to the ones before me ( Thanks Larry, Roberta, Gail etc... ) .... I remember asking a dozen times " What did you take to the hospital " ? " Do you regret having surgery " all the same questions I am still reading LOL. So to all you before Gastric By Pass' ERS--- Congrats, it is the greatest thing I have ever done , I am so grateful for A Great Lord, a wonderful surgeron , a chance to meet so many kind people , OH and by the way I have lost 148 pouds since March 14th, I have also started a new part time job ( A a gym , can you believe ME helping others exercise , CRAZY THOUGHT A YEAR AGO ) .... I feel great , and I pray each and everyone of you have as easy time as I have had. My advice to you is Listen to the nurtritionst and doctor ---- no slip ups, don't eat food that is not on the list, be careful , walk , even if you walk down the driveway a couple times a day WALK ,,, while setting on the sofa , do arm exercise using a couple cans of beans do arm curls, keep moving. Take care of yourself do the right things---- of the people I know that have had problems most did it to themselfs, by no listening to the nutritionst For goodness sake DON't eat eggs 2 days after surgery, don't eat corn , rice or pasta for a very long time. Good Luck , Happy New Year and Love to each and everyone of you

WOW! 148 pounds, that's a whole person. YOu've made this look like a cake walk. I'm pretty tolerant of most things since surgery. My only tidbit is to add psych services because alot of us are emotional eaters and when you take the food out, it creates a void. I still struggle with that. Jen

Happy New Year! Thanks for the encouraging words. Although my surgery date is Jan 29th, I'm still suffering with a lot of self-hate and disgusted at the way I feel and look. You're positive post reminds me of where I'm going, not where I am. Thanks again! Happy New Life to US! Karen
