I had surgery August 29, 2006. Everything was going great at first. I was losing weight with ease. But I havn't lost but 5lp since my last doctor visit on October 15, 2006. I don't get sick, I have only thrown up 1, and as far as I can tell I don't experience dumping syndrom. I walk / jog 2 a week and do Tae Bo 3 times a week. Can anyone give me any advice on how to overcome this hump? Thanks

Have you had a 3 month f/u with your surgeon/NUT? I had one at 3 months and found talking to the NUT helped me out a lot. You say you arnt losing but then you say youve lost 5lbs. I had surgery 5 months ago.... my monthy average is 7-8lbs... this month I lost just 1lb. Are you on track with your surgeons goals? Even thou I seem to lose much less than others at 5 months out I am 1/2 way to my goal weight and pretty much on track with what my surgeon said to expect. If you feel you arnt losing what you should be check what you are eating. Are you eating too many calories? not enough calories? Are you getting in your protein everyday? How are your carbs and fat?? Are you getting in your water?? Keep a food journal (fitday.com has a free one) and bring it to your NUT so they can look it over and give you suggestions. Good luck!

I know that I stopped losing for about a week, but then I started actually eating more and getting all of my protein in, and I've started losing more. The food journal helps me look at my overall day so that I can see where I can do better (or where I can not be so strict on myself). Good luck!
