pre op diet

Ok, My surgery is Tuesday(12-5) and I just pre registered at the hospital this morning. The pre op nurse told me all I had to do was not eat or drink anything after midnite the nite before. Am I supposed to have had a pre op diet? Ive heard of people going on 2 week, even a month, pre op diet. Im worried that since they moved my surgery up, they just eliminated the pre op diet. Also, if there are any NC lap banders out there, Id love to hear from you. Steve Que

Im not sure on the lapband but I would call your surgeon. I know with RNY everybody gets a different preop... I have heard of people having RNY doing the same as you - nothing after midnight.

Hey Steve, Each surgeon is differnt...so require a pre-op diet some don't. Just call you doc although I think they would have told you already if you needed to do something. For some NC banders go to www.band2gether.net there are several of us there. Good Luck!!! I know things will go great!!!!
