I haven't posted in awhile because I have been real frustrated with the whole being denied thing. I found out just now that I got approved after filing my second level grievance. Here's the thing...I have been approved since Sept. and I have just found out about it! They didn't even send Dr Fuzz a letter. I wonder what kind of people they have working at BCBS. I am thankful that I am fortunate enough to be able to have this procedure done. I know that I will finally be able to get my BP under control and be able to do more activities with my kids and the number 1# thing is I will be able to go shopping without having to travel between stores to find clothes big enough to fit me! I will be able to get out of these wind suits and knit pants and wear blue jeans again. I have problems wearing blue jeans because they rub me raw in my inner thighs. I think this is the happiest day I have had since I had my wonderful children. Here's to a new beginning... Christina

HI Christina, Congrats on your approval. I know what you mean about being frustrated. I also have BCBS and they have denied me twice so far! Im at my wits end with them. I had given them everything they wanted and now they say they want a 6 month documeted diet history or 2 - 3 month documented diets. I already sent them my appeal but they still denied me and now my surgeons office is going to appeal for me. I just hope they can get through to them because nothing I say or give them is ever enough. If they deny me again I dont know what I will do next. I have started this procedure in Aug and its so frustrating just trying to talk to anyone at BCBS. It seems like no one there knows whats going on and they all just tell me they Cant answer my questions. Maybe they shouldnt be working there period!! Anyway Im happy your on your way to a better and health life. Good Luck to you on your journey. Dee

Which BCBS plan do you have? I have just now started the process in the last couple of weeks and it seems like all I have had is hurdles. Do you have any suggestions? What issues did they have with you? I have to have records of morbity obesity for the last 4 of 5 years and I only have 3. I don't know what to do. Do I just give up and wait a year?

I was denied the first request for my RNY revision with BCBS. Dr. Pirello submitted an appeal on 10/25 and I got a call last week 11/27 that I had been approved so hang in there! Kathy
